A message to you during this holiday season…

On behalf of the YMCA of Grays Harbor Board of Directors, I would like to announce Kurtis Dawson’s decision to accept a position as CEO of the YMCA of Southern Arizona. It is with understanding and enormous gratitude that the board accepted Kurtis’ decision. Kurtis was an invaluable employee of our YMCA for 15 years, and led our YMCA as the CEO for the past 9 years. Thanks to his leadership and efforts, our YMCA has grown its membership and increased its reach in providing programs and services to meet the needs of our community.

We now have the opportunity to select the next leader who will ensure our continued success. In the interim, Wes Peterson has agreed to act as the CEO. Wes previously served as the CEO for our YMCA and we are grateful to have his leadership and experience to guide us through this transition.

With the staff and board we have in place and our long history of success, the future for our Y is very bright. We look forward to your continued support as we continue to move our organization forward.

Zachary Edwards
Chairman of the Board of Directors

I’ve been honored to be a part of the YMCA of Grays Harbor for over 15 years. The impact the Y has had on my family and I during this time is tremendous. My girls grew up at this Y and I’ve made countless friends over the years. I’m grateful for the support this community shows the Y, not only through donations to our annual campaign and endowment but also the time they give through volunteering at Camp Bishop work parties, timing at a Sea Otter swim meet, coaching a basketball team and so much more. Because of this community support, the Y is in a positive place.

Thank you for supporting our Y and I look forward to watching our Y continue to thrive and increase community impact.

Kurtis Dawson
CEO/Executive Director

With the holidays upon us we would like to take the time to reflect on what we, at the Y, are most thankful for. It’s what makes our Y so special… it’s the members, donors, volunteers, staff, to put it simply, it’s this wonderful generous community we are blessed to serve.

Over the last 9 years Kurtis Dawson, our out-going CEO, has created a culture of positive change within our organization. Always working towards the betterment of our community, increasing community impact and taking great pride in the organization and community we serve. We want to thank Kurtis for a wonderful 9 years of success and accomplishments. Kurtis, we wish you nothing but success in your future endeavors. On behalf of the staff, we are thankful to have the opportunity to continue working to meet our community needs. Our organization is in a positive place and poised to increase our community impact even further for years to come.

Thank you for your service, Kurtis! We look forward to continuing on this success.

Happy Holidays to all our members, donors and volunteers! This holiday season and always, please remember, at the Y we are for a Better You, a Better Us, a Better Grays Harbor.
