What’s New At The Y

Reach & Rise® Mentoring

This new mentoring program provides caring adult volunteers with the opportunity to connect 1-on-1 with youth (ages 6-17) from different cultures and backgrounds who have experienced poverty, crime, truancy, or other social issues. Together, they can share diverse experiences, develop a stronger sense of belonging within their community, and create lasting memories!

Reach & Rise requires all mentors to be 23 years and older, go through a background check, screening and training, and meet with their youth for 1-3 hours/week for a 1 year commitment. This program has proven to help youth: express their feelings, improve school grades, expect more from them, get along better with others, become more involved in enrichment programs, and after-school activities.

The Y, always here for you.

The Y offers more than programs and services, we ensure that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive. Our fitness classes not only improve someone’s physical health; they help unleash a new outlook on life. Our family activities not only bring families together, they help families stay together. Our youth programs not only teach children to dribble or how to swim, they provide kids lifelong skills like confidence and teamwork.
