We are the Minich family. We have been married for nine years and have been together for over ten years. Cameron and I met in the spring of 2002. We were both not in the best shape and fell in love. We spent the next eight years being fat and happy.
In 2004 we moved to Indiana and learned to have a serious relationship with cheese. When we decided to move back to the state of Washington, we both needed a change.
On January 20, 2014 we had our first day at the Y. Our BMI’s were off the charts and we could barely make it 10 minutes on any of the cardio machines. We knew that we had this opportunity to make a change not only in our appearance but our health. Our daughter was five years old. We realized she was laying down memories now that she will keep for a lifetime. We wanted her to remember her parents always being active and concerned about their health.
The first six months were tough, coming to the gym was a struggle, but every time we put on those workout clothes we were making a promise to ourselves for a better future. We know that it’s a rare
person that gets ramped up to go workout. We usually try to talk ourselves out of it. Luckily, with both of us working for the same goal we can encourage and motivate each other.
One year later Cameron has lost 64 pounds and I have lost 40.
